I've got a couple of groups and individuals. It depends on my mood for a particular day or time -
Stimela, Thandiswa Mazwai, Freshly Ground, Danny K, Johny Clegg, Zola. I am also delighted that Mango Groove have done something of late. By the way, now that I can string three sentences in Afrikaans, I am trying to find my best in that language. Anybody that I can try?
Edit: Soos ek gese, ek kan bietjie praat en skryf. Alhoewel sukkel ek nog, ek kry strekte van die Afrikaaners. Ek weet ek praat nie mooi nie maar hull "judge" my nie. Hulle altyd bemoedig my. Hulle altyd se, jy praat moeie Afrikaans. Daardie ondersteuning gee my "strength". Ek leer altyd. Wag tot volgende jaar, jy sal verbaas wees. Hahahaha, hoop ek het nie onsin geskryf!

Arno Carsten's New Porn is great and I'm glad that Seether have made it big across the world.
DNA Strings also make some excellent music.
Kobus (their version of "boereplaas" is amazing), Koos Kombuis, Karen Zoid and Chris Chameleon also make some lekker music
And Robbie Wessels is a legend!

jogs my memory very many of the indie South African scene. i'm afraid that the human beings I go alongside with the scene have thrown me off from liking the music. yet regardless of that i do no longer purely like the music. I mean the customary is excellent, no longer undesirable in any respect yet its merely too, excuse the easy utilization of the slur, "hipster".
