This Will Restore Windows To Before IE7 Was Installed.

because internet explorer 7 modifies a couple of system files it may have stuffed up one of them or something and made it stop working.

1.Restart your computer, and then press F8 during the initial startup to start your computer in Safe Mode with a command prompt.

2.Log on to your computer with an administrator account or with an account that has administrator credentials.

3.Type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

4.Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore your computer to an earlier state.

5. Restart windows normally and then it should work

I agree with the answerer that said to use your XP disc to repair Windows.
My next recommendation is not to reinstall IE7. It is still in the early stages, and I have heard that I causes many problems.

good luck!

Reinstall IE6 then delete IE7 and reinstall it again.

You must have a corrupt file.
