She had a looming pop career, but let's face it....now, she is nothing more than a has-been. She should be going the way of Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, but no! She's still making headlines everywhere she goes, and she still gets talked about. Too bad for all the TALENTED people out there like Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Avril LaVigne, Alicia Keys and Michelle Branch, who always seem to wallow in this no-talent sack of dog crap's shadow!! Basically, Britney's just a fat, washed out PAris Hilton wannabe!! Sorry, but I need to know....why is she still the most famous woman in the world, and is she ever going away for good?!?!?!?!

I totally agree with you as far as Britney is concerned, But I don't agree that Debbie (Deborah) Gibson is such a "has-been". Quite the contrary, Deborah is still quite in the public eye. Of course she has never been in the public eye quite the same as Britney has. (Thank God). She actually has a head on her shoulders.

She's still famous because she's shrewd. She dumped K-Fed before he spent her into bankruptcy, and then befriended the most famous club-hopper in the world, Paris Hilton, for her "rebirth" into the singles scene. Then she dumped Paris before Paris could ruin her comeback. Going to rehab is trendy in Hollywood these days also. If you haven't had a little bit of scandal you are a nonentity. Look at Elizabeth Taylor, what has she done lately? But she is still famous and well known because she has been married eight times, broke up a few marriages, and was Michael Jackson's friend when no one else was. Yet the press still gives her some slack because she is still diva-licious.
Britney will be known more for her failed marriage to a wannabe rapper, her two kids, and going panty-less while clubbing. Yet when she gets older the press will give her a break because she was BRITNEY SPEARS for a while.

I agree with you! It's not like she could ever sing. She's still famous for the same reason people crowd around to see a bad car accident or an obese woman in stretch pants: it's so horrendous you can't look away.

She'll always be famous, the question is famous for what. That will continue to evolve as it has, I'm sure. You cannot become "un-famous" once people know who you are...that's it. Look at Gary Coleman. He became a security guard and was still hounded by the paparazzi. It's just how it goes...

This is one of the greatest mysteries of our day - but it seems that america is still facinated with the former squeaky clean mouseketeer who's life is one big train wreck and you know how people are about train wrecks they just can't seem to look the other way. Oh and getting photographed with no panties twice in one week certainly kept her in the news - I for one am facinated with just how big a piece of white trash she really is

I so agree. She is probably my least favorite famous person. She sets such a bad example for young and teen girls, not to mention her own children now. Her recent behavior is absolutely unacceptable. How is she going to feel when her sons sees these pictures 15 - 20 years from now. She needs to disappear for awhile and get her life together.

Her last hit album was only a couple of years ago. I think it will be a very long time before people stop talking about her, she looks like she has gotten back in shape, and is planning to release a new album in about a year.

In a way, she's not famous, she's INFAMOUS!
Some celebrities are famous for all the wrong things. Some just try hard and some try even harder. I suppose her publicists work hard to supply the 'drama' like others have suggested

she's not famous as a singer anymore as a paparazzi target.cause she hasn't done an album in a while but she's still on the cover of a lot of magazines and interviews.
