You didn't indicate your age or whether you still live at home.
If still at home, respect your parents and treat them accordingly, do your share of keeping the home "clean and in order", be considerate of their feelings as to your "coming and going", noise, etc. Abide by the law and do NOT do drugs and excessive alcohol. Let them know where you are going to be in case they should need to reach you (or in today's society, if you don't return, they have a clue to where to start looking).

If living on your own, live within your budget, call and/or visit (depending on how close you live) your parents regularly (at least on a weekly basis), be responsible and "keep your word".
