There are many Islamic countries that are Democracies. Turkey is a Democracy. Bangladesh is a Democracy. Pakistan is a Democracy (President Musharaf is elected), Indonesia is a Democracy, Malaysia is a Democracy, Lebanon is a Democracy, and even Iran is a Democracy. Nejad is an elected leader, and actually many Iranians are critical of his leadership.

You don't need vast sums of money to have a Democracy. Democracy comes from the people.

Whatever people like Daniel Pipes say are all just Zionist propaganda.

Not in the way America is democratic. They are an ancient people with an ancient culture. They are not very accepting of western ideals and should not be forced to be accepting or integrating of them.Nor should Americans,or anyone else have to accept and live the way they do.I feel sorry for thier women and girls, they are not treated very well alot of times,it is sad to me.

Anything is possible, but I think that we should look at whether or not Islamic countries WANT to be democratic. It is extremely presumptuous of the West to think that's what they want, and take action to assist or intervene. When will we learn our lesson?

Sectarianism, tribalism and juntas cannot be truly democratic if they were not previously.

Those societies are natural evolution from their fundamental lifestyle.

It is folly to think they can be changed overnight, by brute force or by foreign invasion.

The Spanish realized this hundreds of years ago, they did it with guile and god - they sent missionaries to convert the 'natives', pacify them and then kill them out.
