What in goodness sake has invading Iraq and occupying it got to do with our 'Freedoms at home'.

Doesn't this President realize 75% of us (discerning Conservatives included) don't buy that rubbish?

Bush believes what he mouths.

When you are a pathological liar, you believe your own lies - reality is lost forever.

That's the phase Bush and his ardent supporters are in at the moment.

Ah…yes, this is the assertion that irks me the most. Only a credulous moron can actually believe that victory in Iraq – whatever that means (Bush sure hasn’t told us) – will somehow ensure our safety at home, and that failure in that country will definitely spell our impending doom. Nothing could be more farcical than this notion. Its unfortunate, that many Americans still find this logic valid. This same rationale was given for Vietnam, and other conflicts that transpired during the Cold War, and any high school kid who read his history can tell you there is not an ounce of validity to this claim. We lost the Vietnam war, and contrary to those who entreated our world with the prediction that one Asian nation falling to Communism would mean the proliferation of Communism all around the word, the truth is that simply did not happen.

Likewise, Iraq descending into a sectarian blood bath doesn’t mean America will subsequently be attacked with greater virulence. In fact, the exact opposite is true. A nation torn asunder by internal division will not be strong enough or organized enough to do us any serious damage.

In the first place, HE was lied to regarding our national security back in the day before the war. The people advising him did NOT take seriously the threats by Al-Queda. He also admitted to making mistakes about getting into this war, but we just cant't run out now. The terrorists would feel they have won and come after us. BESIDES, we pissed them off now by going over ther and this is all the reason these idiots need to attack us again. You are not dealing with rational people over there.
Bush also explained, if you caught it, that Iraq wasn't holding up THEIR end of the bargain. They were NOT doing enough to strengthen their army, police, etc. and more like they were depending on US to take care of them. They don't have enough manpower committed to keeping their own nation safe. He went on to say this will change, or we WILL leave. He has imposed a time frame on them to comply.
What DO you people hear when you listen to the man talk?
NO, I did not vote for him, but it does make sense. We don't have to like it.

He and his gang of war criminals have managed to convince a surprisingly high number of people that the absence of more terrorist activity in the US is due to them.
Now he wants to make the most out of it, while in reality civil rights are being taken away.

I consider the freedom to live without worrying about terrorists being armed with Iraqi WMD to be worth protecting.

I am alarmed, however, that 75% of the people are so unaware of global reality that they think that only Bush's side of the boat is sinking.

And I'm not sure what you're talking about. He certainly didn't mention this is the SOTU last night.

Perchance, do you have any verifiable proof as when he said this last?

Or is it the voices in your head telling you he said this?

Because the whole premise of invading iraq was his "war on terror".. and eliminating the threat of another terrorist attack on US soil..

Where do you people get your statistics? Just because you make up some percentage of people doesn't mean it's true.

PLEASE quote your source when stating such outrageous claims so that we can tell you why it's wrong.
