So very ,very sorry to hear about your mom.The truth is we can not live without a pancreas there are some medication that will help for a little while but it will only be temporary.Unless their is some magical new surgery it is not good.I may be the only person that answers this question due to the delicate question and I am sorry to be the Bearer of sad news.Go to the Library and read up on how the Pancreas works and that will help you to understand .You also need to know the signs and symptoms to watch for .You also might want to go with her to the Doctor and let him speak with you about your mom's case. You must find time to spend quality time with her NOW.May God Be WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!

Oh, my, I am so sorry to hear of this. My Grandmother just died Christmas morning of 2006 from this very thing. Pancreatic cancer is a horrible disease. Is she a candidate for the Whipple procedure? My grandmother was 90 and not a candidate for anything. She was diagnosed in October 06 and died Christmas morning 06. I don't think it is good news for her though. The survival rate for such isn't good at all. I wish you the best and prayers for your mother.

It is hard to just spout out with this through the internet. But the chances are not good. It is usually a very fast cancer, most people don't live a year once they get it. Spend some good quality time with your Mom and make some lasting memories.

There is more victory over cancer these days then 5 years ago..No one can tell you that your mother is going to beat this demon... But the probabilty is greater now than 5 years ago..Tell her to really take care of herself, get a second and maybe 3rd opinion before doing anything radical. Your pancreas is your insulin provider for your system, it's an important organ. Above else give her support in any means you can...

Not very good and it is in my opinion one of the worst kinds of cancer. People throw up food and they need food to survive and to get over the cancer. It has been linked to smoking.

They advertise Cancer Treatment Centers on TV. I don't know if that would help or not...make sure she has a good oncologist.I'm sorry this has happened to your mom.

The doctors say that it is not good,
But I say as your mind thinketh so it shall be. So we can not denie what doctors clinically see.
But what would happen if some believed they had a disease as this but believed their time was up when God decides their time is up and not the doctor.
Doctors place a time period upon diagnosis, but who is to say that many of those who set the standard for that time period believed that they would die in that time just as the doctor said.
Stress kills and to worry is stress. By worring can anyone add one miniute to their life ............Pray.....Hope.....And don't worry

I am sorry to say this, but the chances are almost zero. You remember Micheal Landon, well he died from the same thing as have many others. It is 99.9% incurable.
