always go with ebay shop owners.
When putting an item on ebay at the end of the listing it warns the seller that it must be genuine. If you do buy it and it is fake all you have to do is go on to the completed lot and there is a report seller button (far left ) i think. This asks you to detail what has happened and ebay then contacts the seller. This is all done online. As soon as you do this the sellers account is stopped no mater if it is a small problem to a large issue like you would have. He cant trade. I love ebay and would just go for it. But you have to be careful, check there feedback and as i said if they are a shop then you are ok cause all buying rights will come in to force. And above all they would have spent money to open that shop in the first place. Hope this helps and happy ebaying.

IF you decide to buy something off of ebay is pretty much at your own risk. You might get a great deal or not get exactly what you thought the item should be. I have bought off ebay and sometimes I got good deals but I have also got something that was a fake and was disappointed but I took it as a lesson learned. Now I chose to just buy from Stores so I know what I'm getting and not being scammed by some individual just looking to make a buck. Remember these are individual people selling on Ebay and unfortunately everyone is not honest. Use your best judgment & Good Luck!

Pay by paypal but even then if it's fake you would be in for a long struggle to get anything back e-bay have been known not to be to helpful on this subject all the bloke has to say is that he bought it in good faith believing it to be genuine and the argument goes round and round check the feedback very carefully look at several months worth should give you some idea of what the seller is like

I think the people who get scammed on e-bay are possibly the sort of people who get ripped off in real life too. Yes, there are loads of fakes on e-bay - but there are plenty of good sellers too. Read the feedback - sometimes this also faked, but you can usually tell (same names appearing, same comments left - identical spelling errors...that kind of thing)
The good sellers will usually show close up photo's showing tags/boxes/serial or manufacturer's numbers. They will have a good rating, and lots of comments form happy customers.
If your watch is fake, report it to e-bay and they will tell you how to progress. Some of the power sellers offer a payment scheme that guarantees you your money back, so if you are worried..use one of those.
I got a gold rolex (authenticated and valued at a jewellers) for under £60 ...so there are bargains to be had if you are careful and do your homework.
(Even if banned, the bloke selling will probably just start up again under another name and address)

E bay is in the middle of trying to sort this and many other problems like this out at the moment but the best way to pay is via pay pal and report thr seller to ebay if the item turns out to be fake. But the new measures to combat this problem will not be coming into effect till about the middle of feb. Hope this helps

b very very careful, yes often fake stuff is sold on eBay.
if the seller just says " I thought it was real "
it seems 2 b enough 2 save them self from any back-lash.
eBay should but have never agreed 2 maintain the integrity of their site; as they r more or less letting the system run it's self with genuine/honest sellers/buyers along with the cons/scams.
it's just a chance u choose 2 take.
u could look on the Net 4 pointers 2 help u.
as i know nothing about watches but a bit about eBay, u weigh up the risks vs the benefits 4 urslef.
:)

Buy the real thing from the store. File a complaint with Ebay to get your money back. That bloke's sure to get banned... but he can always get a new account. It's the internet, sweetie. Don't take a chance.

Make sure you pay via Paypal then you should be covered. Ask the vendor to verify to you in writing (via email) that it is genuine then you will have something personal in writing to show Ebay if they query it. If he is proven to be selling a fake then I do believe he can get banned if he is reported to Ebay. Just do not pay by any other way than Paypal and DO NOT buy it privately off of Ebay.

If your having doubts already, i would stick with your inturnicion.
You won't get your money back, but you can bring it to the attention of eBay.... but what can they do other than banning him?
And you would need to get some sort of certificate that proves that it is fake, from the jewellers.... costly
Im sure eBay have a faq section which may answer your question, so look back on there

I have bought a few watches (Armani, Storm and Fossil) from ebay and never had a problem. I would be wary if there was multiple listings from one seller though. I reported someone for selling copy DVD's as originals and they were removed as a seller. I am not sure what the claim is moneywise though....hope this helps
