I get bouts of insomnia. It's sooo frustrating and boring and you feel like the whole world is asleep except you. I put the news on and watch that, try to do relaxation exercises, write in the notebook by my bed, sometimes get up and go on computer.....

Most useful is writing down any spinning thoughts I have to get them out of my head...but ultimately, you can't force sleep to come.

If it's just the occasional one off night that I can't sleep, a glass or two of wine helps.

This has happened to me a LOT. Boy do I sympathise! (((Hugs for you)))
After a bit, I get up and check my email and surf odd websites I usually don't have time for. Like information on little villages in the middle of the Pyrenees mountains, etc. Then I go back and lie down and make up silly stories until I fall asleep, or until 6 AM when I get up and make eggs for breakfast. I don't usually get up at that time but when I wake up at 4, by 6 I'm starving!

I know this feeling SO well. If I can be bothered to get up I play around on the internet, drink hot chocolate, read or when all else fails wake my husband and tell him to talk to me!

Lie on My back, legs in the air and enjoy the relaxation. I sleep in my Dad's bedroom on the floor, there are heat pipes under the floor and it's really cosy.

I get up, go downstairs and have a hot drink, then go back to bed about half hour later, I usually go straight back off. If I stay in bed I won't go back to sleep for about 2 hours.

Depends on what time you start work? I use to get up at 3.30 and be at work at 5:30.
