Well this northern girl would as she is going to the southern hemisphere to visit relatives she hasn't seen for over 25 years, so please can we keep it visible until the middle of June.

We would notice for a number of reasons:
- European teams would start winning more world cups at soccer,cricket,rugby league ....well just about every sport.
- All those terrible aussie soaps would stop.
- And Klie would spend more time in Sheffield

Would we care.

So if the globe was halved you mean? the bottom would turn into a huge flat desert with outbreaks of snow, and sunburnt penguins.

Yes I think I'd notice, our orbit would get quite snazzy...

It can all drop off from just below Derby for me. In fact, Derby aint that hot now I come to think about it - crap beer. It can all bollox just below Chesterfield and just above Scarborough and just have a lovely Northern ring floating in space for ever more. Eeeeeee.

yes, id notice - especially as such a catastrophic event would change the world.
