We will be spending 6 nights and 7 days at Walt Disney World in May. Is it best to get the Dining Plan or no?

We are curious if the dining plan is worth it, or can we eat cheaper than $40 a day in the parks? Also, is May a good month to go or is it usually crowded?

May is a great month to travel to disney world. It most likely wont be so crowded because most of the spring break travelers go in April. As for the dining plan, i highly recommend it. We went for 8 days and it was really helpful for times we just did not want to pay with cash. It is so easy to just give the people your cards when ordering food.

Although I can't give you first hand experience, I have done a lot of reading about the dining plan and want to try it next time we get a chance to go to Disney. I have read reviews of the dining plan and most people were pleased. The only constant complaint was that there was too much food...more then you would normally eat. However a lot of great places to eat are on the dining plan. And if you didn't have the dining plan you might not consider eating there due to the price. I think it would make for a good experience especially if you love food!

Also, May is a good time to go. It's right before the busy time of year when most people are there!

It depends. The dining plan gives you a lot of food and many options around the parks. However, this past time we went concierge and took advantage of the food they put out all day long. One day, we spent $8 on food in the park.
As far as May being crowded, it's not that bad.

I just returned from Disney world and on average spent over 130 a day on food and we usually only had 2 meals. it was one adult and a 14 and 16 year old. Next time I plan to use the plan. Just a recommendation...the restaurant in Italy (Epcot) was the very best!!
