of what to expect on my cruise along the nile/lake nassarI've looked in a few books and it sounds lovely, but not seen too many pics , except for the temples. Is it mostly desert I will pass through, or will i see villages/small towns on the banks? What sort of wildlife can I expect to see? will i see beautiful sunsets? are all the temples on this route worth seeing or are there any ones in particular u would recommend? Any ideas and help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I have been on many Nile cruises, actually more than 20 times and I never get bored. It is an annual ritual, that I make sure I do not miss. I must admit, I never tried the lake Nasser cruise. I heard it was not as stimulating as the regular Nile cruise.

Yes, you will get to see a lot of villages and farming areas during the cruise. What is interesting about this is that u get to see how the peasants have been living for thousands of years.

You will also get to see small towns during your visit to temples and tombs. Nothing fancy about these towns, expect u get to see how peasants live, interact, eat and how pleasant they are.

Not much of wild life, you will only get to see the domestic animals used by the peasants in their daily lives, so plenty of donkey, cows, buffaloes, sheep etc.

Sun sets - Oh my god, the most amazing sun sets u will ever see. Words will never allow me to describe its beauty.

There are several temples worth seeing;

1- Kom ombo
2- Esna temple
3- Edfu temple
4- Karnak temple
5- Luxor temple

The cruise without a shred of doubt is an amazing experience. You surely will never forget it for the rest of your life. Fascinating and intellectually stimulating and is also fun. One last piece of advice, try to visit during winter and spring, it is rather hot in summer.

what Fozio telling is about the regular cruise between Luxor and Aswan but between Aswan and Abo simble through Nasser lake is bit different,
there are few cruise boat there, nasser lake not small one as you can imagin it is the biggest artificial lake you can ever see, u may have the feelings in some area that you sail in the ocean, near the bank of the lake some of the areas have desert.

the most important sights to see as following:-
the great and small temples of Abu Simbel “RamsesII & Nefertari temples)
ancient citadel “Kasr Ibrim"
Wadi al-Seboua temple
temple of Dakka
tomb of Penout
temple of Amada
temple of Derr
temple of Kalabsha

it is amazing trip, enjoy your time there, make your camera always ready to catch the different collections of the sun light.
wish u a nice trip.

Nile cruises are memorable experiences, you'll love it, the only thing that I recommend to you, is to only drink bottled water.
