If a child is old enough to reach the washer & dryer, they are old enough to do their own laundry! If you don't have your own area for laundry and have to leave the house, go with them, make it a joint effort, answer their questions b/c they will have them. It's just another step to making them independant adults

Yes. Mom's need a REGULAR break; particularly when teens are not little babies anymore.

Everyone needs to learn the basics to learn how to take care of themselves later on in life.

Suck it up buddy, do something nice for your mom every day: take out the garbage, dry dishes, wash floors, vacuum, clean bathroom. Get her some flowers.

I'm a father, but - yes!! When I was a boy, I used to wash my underwear and the socks every time I took a shower, so my mom would not be doing it for me. Find this movie: "Dying Young"(Julia Roberts), and let them watch it. I believe that movie made me do my own laundry.

I don't think so. They both can use the washer and dryer to do their own clothes. The needed break isn't from the laundry.
