During recess, we have to queue up till we are all sweaty and hot and stuffy and uncomfortable due to all the pushing and shoving. Then, a typical teacher in school just walks in front of the queue and gets the privillege of being served first! wth... Do you agree that it's unfair for teachers to cut the queue or not?? I am referring to most teachers I know so far and not ALL so dun feel offensive if you are one.

I work in a school cafeteria and I was told when I was hired that the students are first priority. So in our school district the kids come first. The teachers wait in line with the kids to be served. I think that's fair. Everyone should be treat equal regardless of age, besides teachers and students have the same amount of lunch time (very limited time)

I'm confused--how are you being 'served' at recess--is this food that's being served? (Recess here means going outside to play for 15 minutes.)

And no, I don't think it's unfair. Teachers are to be supervising the students and have a ton of work to do. They already spend a lot of time waiting after students. They can't be doing their jobs if they're standing around waiting in line at their own work place.

If you mean it's lunchtime or something instead, so a longer break, then yes, it's unfair--teachers should either hurry their butts to get there first or wait in line like everybody else.

Do you have a student council? Is this something that could be brought up?

In my school it's the same. Well Since i'm in my last year we get to go into dinner first but if a teacher comes the people on the tills don't serve us until they serve the teacher. Since there teachers they think they can do that. It is unfair but it's just the way it goes and since there grown ups they tend to take advantage...

Coping with the unfairness is how you become somebbody special. want to be just an average or below average fellow? of course not you want to be like uncle slick. be somebody and cope with the challenge of all the unfairness and smile through it all then you can handle anything they throw at you. lol

It's not unfair. Teachers are there to teach and students are there to learn. You are not equals and you pretty much have to accept it. If that's all the 'abuse of power' complaints you have, you have it pretty good!

Teachers have less time to eat than you do and they have to get back to the classroom to prepare for the next class period.
