(((HUGS))) for you. We found out I was pregnant on my daughter's 11th birthday. The difference in ages was not for lack of trying. I can sympathize with your fears. Although mine was an extremely active baby I had a very difficult pregnancy and worried every day until I was in my 36th week or so that something new was going to happen and I would lose him.

HUGS!!! We are praying for you - I would bet that they will find a very healthy baby today (and you can find out boy or girl!). With my first one I think I was 23 weeks before I felt her moving. It felt like forever!!! I was only like 13 or 14 weeks with #2 when I felt her.
You are pretty much in the clear now...making it through the first trimester and having a good heartbeat. Honestly - the worry now is a "cord accident" which is very rare and isn't something you could do anything about. So being infertile for so long and all has absolutely no impact on your ability to have a healthy baby now.
Since you are concerned though...I would look into renting a baby beat home doppler so you can listen in to baby's heartbeat at home. This will continue to give you reassurance that he/she is doing fine throughout your pregnancy.

Congratulations! The 20 week ultrasound is definitely the most exciting! My doctor suggested that I eat and drink something about 30 minutes prior to my ultrasound to assure that the baby is awake and active. Good luck today!

I have a sevn year old and now have an eight week old too...it took a lot of years for us to get pregnant again so I was very concerned with this last one. I developed diabetes in the last trimester and this increases the chance of stillborn....i was scared...but my doctor was excellent and he sent me for weekly monitoring where they strap your belly with a heartrate monitor....she was fine....he also said he could compare weeks and see if there was any distress....my daughter is healthy and i am so in love with her....it was a nervous time but i just took it really easy...no lifting ever and made my hubby do a lot....good luck to you and congrats...everything should be fine......ohhh..i am overweight too.....with my first one I didn't feel her movements very much until 30 weeks or so....

Well I had the same concern everytime I went in until I started to fell the kicks on a regular basis. The chances of still birth is very small, and if you did your body would probably let you know. Most women when they miscarry feel pain in the womb. I am pretty sure that if you misccaried you would know it.
Good Luck today and CONGRATULATIONS

Its very normal to worry and be excited about the ultrasound. But Its very unlikely that they baby will be deceased. Try to calm your nerves and think about the positive. I have always been nervous going for a first ultrasound . Always worried something would be wrong with my baby, but everything has always turned out great. :) Congratulations

My cousin had a still birth. Then when she went into her labor, she had a dry birth. That is when the baby doesn't get enough fluids. She said it really hurt. Go back to the doctor and ask them to look at you. Tell them you are not leaving until you get seen!!

Oh darl, pls don't worry without good cause. Your baby, as young as it is can detect stress. Don't look at stats. Just relax, talk to your baby and enjoy your pregnancy. I wish you lots of luck.
