Ok we, men are very fortunate to not to suffer some of the women issues, but this one i'm suffering too:
My wife is on the stage of the "hot flases" and anything on her back is unbearable, and don't want to use the hormones treatmets, so, Have any of you found a solution for it? Any fresh (if not cold) fabric that you have found to wear? At night just can't get 4" close to her because "it burns"....
Any ideas?

Ask her if she's willing to try natural remedies for hormonal changes?? I know that they sell a vitamin like this and you can get it anywhere. I do believe its called Estroven. Not totally sure of the name, but that came to mind. I have heard of women going through these changes and believe me, I am not looking forward to it. You must be a very thoughtful husband to post a question for her. Wish her luck for me, and If this vitamin doesnt work, then she will have to go see a doctor. ( Try silky fabrics for her)

She could try wearing satin, it feels cool to the skin, but may turn you on and make it even more unbearable.
If you're against hormone treatments like HRT, why not try a natural alternative. Menopausal hot flushes are just a symptom of declining hormone levels. There are herbs that can supplement hormone levels in the body, meaning menopausal symptoms can be beaten without resorting to drug therapy.

Please see the web pages for more details on Menopause.
Menopause is physiologic or iatrogenic cessation of menses (amenorrhea) due to decreasing ovarian function. Manifestations may include hot flushes, atrophic vaginitis, and osteoporosis. Diagnosis is clinical: absence of menses for 1 yr. Manifestations may be treated (eg, with hormone therapy or SSRIs).

My goodness tell her to go see a OB/GYN and tell them what is going on and that she doesn't want to go on the hormone pill. There are several things on the market for menapause, there is no reason for you guys to be suffering... She needs to make this a priority....
