Danny, I think that your boys are the only ones who pose a realistic chance of beating us...who can forget the ODI series we played last year in SA...2 all going into Jo'burg, and then what a game that was!!!
SA arent ranked 2nd in ODI's for nothing!! They have a very well balanced line up and a captain that is not afraid to stick it up the Aussies. I think they will finally get to a World Cup final this time against us, and who knows what could happen from there....the only team I can see stopping us winning a 3rd straight World Cup!!
West Indies will do well...but will be knocked out in the semis.

Hi Danny
I said this to my friends several months ago, & nothing to do with that never to be bettered or forgotton 1 day match between your gys & the aussies, that I fancy SA to do really really well in the WC & potentially win it.
Pollock is one of the most under-rated & under-adulated pace bowlers ever - I am sure he will have extra fire in his stomach to retire (probably) from Internationally cricket with the ultimate accolade.
Although of Indian parentage I will obviously like to see the sub-continent win the WC, however, be it the Aussies or SA I really would like to see an exciting & controversy free tournament.

I think WI should be second favourites, they can't bowl sides out in Test matches but their collection of medium-pacers will be hard to get away on the low & slow Caribbean wickets. Ian Bradshaw could be one of the players of the tournament going for less than 4 an over and Gayle is both a devastating hitter and a nagging bowler to get away. If England win it will be akin to Greece winning the European Championships in 2004!

the aussies are almost unbeatable atm, gilly getting us to a start, ponting making runs and in form, symonds smashing runs and mike hussey is unstoppable.
newzealand have a really good chance. with shane bond leading their bowling they can knock over sides cheaply. with a strong middle order styris, oram, mcmillan, mcallum they can smash huge scores.
u cant go past the windies tho, home advantage which should give them the extra edge. chris gayle is making huge scores blitzing bowling attacks, with people like lara, samuels, hinds, sarwan they can make a competitive score and back it up with the ball
underdogs will be pakistan, india and south africa

personally i would like to see ireland and kenya do well
england are pants
the english squad are shaken by vaughan's manipulation of the media/willingness to stab freddie in the back
lets hope panesar is given a chance to shine and the aussies implode in a cloud of arrogance/thinly disguised racist sledging
