Depending on the type of contraceptive you took, studies show that you should be back to normal within 6 - 18 months, yes it sounds like along time but you have to think that it has to completely get out of you system, the over load of oestragen which made the body think it was pregnant so you couldn't get pregnant, will take 6 - 18 months to clear from you system and come to a regulated amount...

It can take a few months for the body to get back into its own rhythm. The higher the dose of hormones in the pill, the longet that will be. For "normal" strength pill it should take 3 - 6 months;

it took me six months for my hormones to settle after coming off the pill, and my periods were all over the place, i could go 7weeks without a period then have two in one month, but this is all normal so dont worry, its just takes a while for ur hormones to settle and come back into balance again. the best thing to help when coming off the pill is vitamin B6 and vitamin E, some women use evening primrose oil aswell to help.

It is different with every woman.
Some woman only take 2 months to be regular again and others take up to 5 months.
It also depends on what kind of pill you took. If it was the three-phase pill or two-phase pill...etc.

its all to do with hornmones and every person will react very differently from others.
It does sound normal that your body is adjusting to what it was before the pill but it can take up to 2years to actually settle back down into its normal period.
dont worry it'll be fine, just always carry around tampons or pads incase you have an emergency

There are many different formulas to upset your hormonal balance to prevent pregnancy. Many people say six months is what it normally takes for the body to get acclimated to the natural balance.
