Can someone give me the details of how Bush proposed to do that?

Farkas, can you think of an example of another US city which was as devastated as New Orleans (and coastal Mississippi) and how they raised the money by themselves to rebuild?

I certainly hope everyone got the message after Katrina, that there is no money for New Orleans. Bush became the first President to not show up for a National Disaster with aid and comfort for the victims. Somehow, the money that was put aside from our taxes, to help our fellow citizens in times of disaster, was gone, and so was Bush's response. I think their plan is to force out all the low income locals, and turn New Orleans over to big time developers who will make it a playground and home for the wealthy.

He's going to have the New Orleans Saints help rebuild, since they recently became available.
Maybe George Bush didn't show up with aid and comfort for the victims because he was afraid of being sniped or having Air Force One looted.

I would assume that the citizens of New Orleans could rebuild their city the same way ALL citizens of ALL cities and towns heavily damaged by hurricanes rebuild: Raise money and do it themselves, rather than depending on the federal government!

Although I watched Bush, I didn't retain much of what he said, or attempted to say. I don't know what it is about him, perhaps his syntax or maybe his demeanor, but whenever I watch him speak the words go in one ear and out the other but his facial expressions stick with me, like gum on a shoe.

Well since global warming is supposed to raise the sea level by 30 feet, why waste the money? It is already 14' below sea level.
