i got a new mouse attached it and the cursor is stuck on the screen and is not moving,i put back the old mouse and it still doesnot move what can i do to fix this problem and what did i do wrong

yes ! do not panic. the new mouse may not at all be faulty.
the fact is that the mouse (new one) may have its driver missing.
Now go to control pannel >> add remove hardware , and install teh new mouse using its floppy or cd given or just apply standard mouse drivers for it. and restart your pc and check it out. if not, then reinstall the OS with the mouse installed and check out that the mouse will detect of its own.

it sounds like their is a driver problem.
are you familiar with how to move around windows using the keyboard and no mouse?
you will have to maneuver to the device manager and remove the devices.
then you will have to scan for hardware changes.
You might even use your driver disk to install
The other option is if your new mouse is wireless then it may have dead batteries... or be too far from the reciever... or may just not have been sync'd

i purchased 2 programs each body had a blue hint mouse AND a marginally blue hint mouse. both my extremely blue hint mice artwork and both my regularly happening sized blue hint mice have a similar difficulty as yours. So I even haven't any concepts, yet for sure somethings incorrect with the mouse or driver, because both my new ones behave a similar way.

Put in the old mouse and restart your computer.
Then install the driver for the new mouse before you plug it in.
When you plug most things into your computer, you need to restart the computer to enable it to recognize the new device.

try the mouse on another pc and see if it works.
install software if it came with any(drivers)
if wireless check batteries and press the button on reciever and mouse in right order.
what type of mouse is the new one and old one?

check the settings in the control panel, if they seem fine then buy a new mouse, if the problem doesnt go away, you probably need to do a system restore

Check again that your new mouse is securely plugged in, if it's not a wireless one. they have a habit of working loose

Hook up the new mouse and reboot. Once it looses the sig for a period of time, it's locked out, you need to reboot with it hooked up..,, old or new.

I think something went wrong with your comp.
Restart.....and if not okay...then re-install your mouse...
