Anyone else think Sandy totally looked better before she slapped on the black tights & permed her hair. She ended up looking like a hooker & the message to the viewer was- "Hey girls, Dress like her & YOUR boyfriend will light up too!"

I was a junior in high school when the movie Grease came out, and I thought the same thing. Sandy may have been a goody-goody at the beginning, but did they have to change her into a hoochie? I was glad that Danny was willing to change for her, but of course, he didn't have to.
I'd love to see an updated version, where Sandy dumps the pink ladies and stays the goody goody cheerleader, and Danny ends up being the jock instead of the hoodlum.

That was the huge controversy about the movie when it was originally released. The point is that Danny was willing to change for Sandy, and Sandy was willing to change for Danny.
Additon: Oh yes Fonzie, big controversy. I was 14 years old and went with 4 other girlfriends. We had such a "fight" after that movie. I liked the ending, saw no problem with it. My other 4 friends were mad about the ending and said it was really wrong! I had to keep reminding them, "Geez, it's just a movie!" LOL

yes, unfortunately it give the wrong message and most of all because he like her the was she was before her makeover, so she didn't need it.
But the movie is good, I still watch it! :)
