The disadvantage of studying philosophy lies in the question.
When you study philosophy - you never stop - and the purpose is to gain the capacity of thinking efficiently as well for professional intent than for personal accomplishment.
What about the question ?
What disadvantage are you relucting at ?
Philosophy is a sustained autonomous trend - not quite a decision of the "To be or not to be" type.
You read and study books on your own long before taking any professional cursus and the option is not questionning you as you
are a philosopher - most often since you were a child.
The negatif effect to avoid lies in engaging in a kind of inappropriate challenge.
Is philosophy a class of concern of yours ?
If so, then go ahead ! You will learn all fundamentals to clear thinking as well as a theoretical conduct of the mind.
Have a nice day.
