Hi Dmit,

It all depends on what the judge ordered. It might have been immediate payment or payment by instalment depending on if it was a lump sum claimed or periodict payments for things such as maintainance.

You will need to look at the judgement that you will receive or already have.

If he fails to pay you can ask the court to put an attachment of earnings order on his wages or issue a distress warrant for recovery.

You did not specify the exact nature of the claim but I hope this clarifies the issue.

Good luck.

The whole business of payments is processed by the Fines and Fees office of the Court. Obviously they can only forward payments made, so it might be worth checking with the office that he has been paying as ordered. There can occasionally be a slight hitch when the order is transferred to another court, as where a person required to pay lives in another jurisdiction (area covered by the court), it is standard practice to make a transfer order so that if there is any problem the local court has the burden of enforcing it. You should have received payment by now. Chase it up with the Fines and Fees office.

You should have started receiving payments by now. Go the the Clerk of Court to find out what the status is. They should be able to either answer your question or point you in the right direction.
