This is a midi file ripped from an old game converted to standard .mp3.

Everybody seems to think it is an 80's song, but no one can pull an artist or title. I figure Yahoo! answers is the best place to ask.

The file is hosted (by someone else) here: http://66.28.224.204/mp3/MUS00013.mp3

This song is for SURE NOT:

+ You Give Love a Bad Name - Bon Jovi

+ Heaven is a Place on Earth - Belinda Carlisle

Naechtes Mal am Ende der Welt - Valeries Garten

The song/artist listed above is technically a match found by someone named 'Gunter' on Google answers, but believe there is no way this is a German song.

* Find me the AMERICAN artist and song name and then I'll be happy. :) So many people say it sounds familiar, so there is no way it's a German song.

Definitely not an original composition for the game - all the music was ripped from other sources. Mostly containing Nine Inch Nails, some Paul Young, and ... this.

I sincerely apologize if it sounds like I had an attitude! When I add these details, such as what it is not, it is because I know how MIDIs work.

If the song doesn't sound exactly like the MIDI, it isn't it. Even if the chorus has similarities, it doesn't matter. When they use MIDIs in the gaming world, its 99% of the time an exact translation of the song.

Sorry again, but please don't take offense if you offer a suggestion, and I come back and say for sure it's not that. I have Rhapsody and I plug in the song you tell me and can easily tell if it is it or not. Thanks!

In response to your music thing not finding a writer - neither does mine. A .mid file has no information usually. This does not mean it isn't a real song, in fact I know it is a real song. That's not what this question is about, really. It's about proving it is an American song.

The chorus sounds like "Just another day in Paradise".

It's just a nondescript background score written for the game.

Phil Collins Another Day in Paradise.
You're so sure what it's NOT, you should be able to figure out what it is by yourself. It doesn't help to ask for assistance with an attitude.

It doesn't sound familiar at all to me. Are you sure it wasn't something just written for the game?
