Well I was just wondering if you really like a guy, but dont know if he is gay or straight what should you do??

When you go around him observe his mannerisms and eye contact. You definately need to make eye contact. If he shows interest, then go somewhere private and talk. You can not be afraid.

Ask.But don't ask in the wrong way.Be tactful.And accept it if he is straight.Don't pressure or come onto him until you know for sure and once you know and he does turn out to be straight then don't pressure or come onto him because you have to respect him as you would want his respect.

I wouldn't leave anything up to chance or superstition. I'd do the adult thing and use my words to find out what I want to know.
