I put crushed coral in it and now I dont know if it should be sand. I also put crushed coral in it and I will add a whisper top filter to it next . What kind of fish could I put in it? And DO I need to make a reef or will a live rock work fine if i can find one? Any tips would be great.

I also wanted to do a salt water tank so I signed up for an online course at http://saltaquarium.about.com/ this course is very informative and tells you step by step what to do , when and why. It took all the mystery out of it.

Vincent's suggestion is a very good one, also invest in a comprehensive book dealing with the special problems of saltwater. The first thing to study would be the purpose and amount of live rock.----PeeTee
