wot is http404 not found?

I con not sign in to my old hot mail account to send my e-mail & folders with all my contacts & messages .To my new yahoo account.

ASSUMING you can 'browse' normally except for one link, 404 means the web site address you typed in does not link to an actual web page.

Either you have the wrong address or the site has been closed.

If you are getting a lot of '404' then there's a problem with your Internet link (or maybe with the ISP).
