some reason you can't do both? It seems the more members you have in your "community" the more able the community will be to help the ones who need help.
I can't think of a clique that is healthy and very productive, including the smoke-filled back rooms of our government.

If you mean people that have moved in next door etc then yes people should be welcoming. I remember when you moved into a new house the neighbours would introduce themselves bring you a cup of tea and scones . Used to make me feel very nice. Her in Uk it is a bit different , not so?? People keep to themselves, to the point where you think you are the only one living on the block. Never see anyone but fortunately for me i talk to everyone, must say i did not know what people were saying to me when they greeted me with "Nice day, Innit". Did not have a clue, just smiled and pretended i knew. Took me ages to get to know people so there are lots of people i greet but i do not visit them. Still nice to know there are some friendly people out there.:))

That's very cryptic. Obviously you have a hidden agenda and without knowing what it is, I can't possibly comment. I think it is important to look after everyone but not at the expense of yourself.
