So the UK catholics want special dispensation from the government to institutionalise a hate program against same sex couples, preventing them from adopting..

First the gays....

The row is about whether Catholic adoption agencies can discriminate against gay couples. Personally I'm more concerned about 'catholic adoption agencies' in view of the Catholic Church's record on child abuse.

I agree with you. Do these adomption agencies only allow married catholic couples to adopt?

I would like to respond to some of Yolanda's statements...
"It was clear in the Bible that God, creator of heaven and earth only created a man and a woman. Nowhere can I find God created the third sex. There was also the commandment God made "go and multiply". How can the same sex couples multiply? Even science cannot do that.
I am not against same sex couples, however we have to respect the opinion and belief of others so that we will have peace on this earth."

Oh the genius... So, how does 'go and multiply' relate to adoption? People who adopt do so because they cannot have children. This was also not one of the commandments. It was stated in the bible, but calling it a commandment is misleading, as there are only ten of those. Besides, if you believe in the go forth and multiply argument, you should also be harassing virgins ;)
I don't understand your third sex comment. Are you saying homosexuals are not men or women but some new gender? This really does not seem to apply to the question.
As to science not being able to get same sex couples to reproduce, you are wrong again. In 2001 Australian scientists impregnated a mouse without using sperm. The breakthrough was intended to help with fertility treatments when the male had a very low sperm count, but one of the team pointed out that it meant men were no longer required for reproduction.
You're not against same-sex couples and believe in respecting the right of others. How do these two views match though? Do you respect the views of the Catholic Church or of society?
And if you think religious views lead to peace on earth, then you should really study history.

I am not Catholic but would say it is not a hate campaign. Everyone knows what religions stance on homosexuality is, so go some where else if u are a same sex couple wanting to adopt. I personally see it as another e.g of authoritarianism and erosion of freedom of choice. Next they will try and make all Jewish and Muslim butchers sell pork. I believe that variety is better than a dictation of rules.

Calling it a hate programme is showing your own bigotry.

The Catholic church has within its realms great thinkers,doctors,scientists,sociologists.They carry great responsibilty and dont take decisions lightly.

Same sex couples adopting is obviously a bad idea to anyone with sense.Even though we are tolerant of same sex relationships,adoption into what is frankly an unnatural and unorthodox system is far from beneficial for the child .The child should be allowed to reach adulthood without prejuidice ,in a natural enviroment and similar to that of his peers.

The catholic church has always been opposed to same sex relationships.But because you are gay,you expect the world to bow before you ,whilst you beat your opposition with your new found politically correct status.maybe it is you who should bow before the majority!

Well I don't agree with it but......... The Church of England have come out this AM and said the same thing. So you will have to say that the C of E are Nazi bigots as well.
In fact the Jews and Muslims feel the same.
So if you are any one of the above you too are a Nazi bigot ( in your words) To quote Martin Niemoeller's words.

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

You are right to speak out but it does not help attacking a someone Else's religion. One day he may have to speak out for you.

All organised religion is a pile of festering doo doo. Why don't they just sod off and leave perfectly decent people to get on with their lives? Next they'll want kids taken off single parent families and then off non-catholics. Watch out though; Mrs Blair is a catholic so I bet they get their way.
