Many email clients block the images / content of the email due to privacy reasons/spamming. You may have to click on 'show content' or 'enable content' or 'show images' in the mail client.. including Yahoo / Hotmail.
If your PC does not have a program to view images, you can install ones like MS Picture Manager or IRFANViewer or thousands of other image managers.

You dont necessarily need a program to see the images. The problem most likely lies in your email client itself. There are probably settings blocking jpg images from displaying properly.

Should be visible in email, your client mau not have the right plugin.
Basically get any picture editor to see jpgs since they are standard for many pics

there many software to open that file...even the microsoft word can do...the important is, make sure that file to be open is compatible...set your program into jpg, not bimap...
or direct open use the software PHOTO EDITOR...

Most web browsers will work, Windows will do it of it's own accord, practically any graphics software, word processing software, DTP software....
To be honest though, it sounds like you have some corrupt jpegs to me.
