I have just borrowed an external cd-rom because my internal isnt working at the moment.

How do i get my pc to boot from disc using the external drive?

I am going to reinstall windows onto my hard drive so that it works properly again

Thankyou so much SANJAY for the advice before you are a genius (I hope you get time to answer this question for me)

click F2 when the computer is booting to go into the bios

Frankly if I were you I wouldn't attempt to use the external device. Instead, for a very modest amount on money, I would throw out the internal device and fit a new one. Honest. You will save yourself a lot of work & heartache.

technologies is trouble-free to verify on a days. i might want to recommend any force that isn't any longer the most inexpensive contained in the keep and could honestly write DVD (of all type +/-). each and every of the cables are in many cases protected contained in the equipment or perhaps my mum can set up the force (and thats declaring some thing)

You would have to configure your BIOS to boot from the USB device (if it's even possible with your motherboard.)
