Russia with Putin is not analogous to Russia with Stalin, Stalin intentionally starved to death up to 20 million of his own people, I have in-laws who lost family then. The stories they tell are horrific to say the least. It is true however that Putin is like any politician and will take any opportunity to accrue more power to himself. Recent economic and infrastructure difficulties in Russia have given him the opportunity to garner more power but he's no dictator, more like a president that's a little power mad. hmmm.. that last part seems familiar.
