Do they share some of the same stars, are they close to each other in the sky?

I assume you are an aussie :D No the Southern Cross and the Iron Pot dont share any stars that I'm aware of. Personally I find the cross hard to locate, but the pot is easy lol

In the southern hemisphere, the saucepan is the belt and sword of Orion who is upside down from a northern hemisphere point of view. Orion is on the opposite side of the sky from the Southern Cross and they have no stars in common.

If you are looking for the Southern Cross and have found Orion, just turn round to see the cross.

Uhm no dear:) to see the shape of the southern cross you need to go look at the Australian flag.
Also the saucepan cant be seen in the southern hemisphere, so it cant be the same constellation.
