Energy can't be created and destroyed and for any action there'll be reaction. Since these are true, how come the universe can continue to be in motion with energy in an endless cyclical process (continuous conversion from one form to another)? I mean, can't the universe just balance itself out and be static (cease to have motion)? What causes the universe to continue to be in motion?

Sound like the universe doesn't follow the law of conservation of energy - being able to expand and depress and expand and depress again for eternity. Even if the amount of energy is the same, the answer that we have today still doesn't provide the insight into what actually perpetuate this process of energy expanding and depressing again and again. It was as if this universal energy is alive and forever self-sustaining. Some sort of conserved perpetual motion?

This is a very complicated question and entirely theoretical.

the answer is basically that the universe goes out further and further, faster and faster then collapses back upon itself till all of it is in a single point then it "big bangs" again.

Quote from source:

Here's how it works, and keep in mind we're jumping into the middle of the explanation: A big bang sends everything outward. Matter and radiation develop. Dark energy drives an expansion -- as is presently underway -- that lasts trillions of years. Finally, the matter, radiation, and even black holes are "diluted away," leaving the universe smooth, empty, and flat.

Then everything contracts in a so-called big crunch, and a fresh cycle begins.

The first guy is right, but i have something to add...

...that's just one of the 2 theories about the evolution of the Universe. There's also another theory called "Steady State Theory", according to that, everything does not move further and further away, so i guess according to this theory, the universe has balanced itself out in a major way and only minor movements exist within galaxies, which will also eventually cease to exist...

...although the other theory might be true...

...but then again...

...YOU CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO BELEIVE!!!
