Capitalism-driven media draws its strength from encouraging ignorance among the masses. Advertisements, sit-coms, news, cartoons, all are being geared towards a shorter and shorter attention span and trivializing concern with whether or not something is complete nonsense. As long as we continue our commitment to buying on impulse and ignoring what actually goes on around us, we'll continue our intellectual errosion.

peopl are getting more stupid each year because media has drained our minds so that we become mindless drones.
zombies i tell ya, zombies!
and also perhaps more and more people are starting to not care about issues anymore. although, there are people who do care about important issues. so yeah, just like wealth, there's gonna be more of a split between the smarts and the stupids.

Because our brain is trained to develop in a stress situation. No stress-little development. we don't have to hunt for food, create some arm. We go to a supermarket, watch that dull tv which relaxes us. Don't read real books and papers. There is nothing surprizing.
But I am not one of those. I try to fight.

Our standards of education are dropping to allow "previously disadvantaged" individuals to pass. Our kids aren't learning to spell properly because of SMS slang. And when they're not sending misspelled text messages to each other, they're glued to the playstation.

I never look at it as people are getting stupider. I always look at it as I'M GETTING SMARTER.
Try it it's less frustrating because you'll never change the way some people are.
