Monogamy works for me and has been working for over six years strong. But relationships don't have to be based on monogamy.I have known some couples who have successfully had open relationships and still remained together after 20 years. But relationships are hard work whether there is monogamy or not and many just take the easy way out by staying single.I think that if it works for them then all the better for people who live the one night stand life.Personally, I would be very scared knowing that my future would be me alone and to old to meet a life partner and so I am in one now and working to make it last because I am happier with someone who I love and who loves me and knowing that when I get old I will continue to have someone.
Monogamy has a future for some people but because of fear of cheating and temptation to cheat, relationships are becoming more and more of open relationships.Monogamy only exists for those of us who have all the excitement we need at home.

Of course monogamy has a future for those that want it or live it ! Contrary to popular belief Not all older Gay or Hetro couples have one night stands , it's mostly a " younger generation thing " as is in my opinion why most of the younger generation call themselves Bi-sexual >> the biggest reason why I think it's because you all do not or refuse to understand the concept of Commitment !

Do you honestly think that those are the only two options? There's serial monogamy, polygamy/polyamory, celibacy...
All these will be carried into the future. It is down to the individual to decide which they would envisage suiting them.

i would have to say that if it is something that you really want then yes it has a future. but if you like playing the field and one night stands then i would have to say no. it really depends on the indivual or the couple.

Maybe not so much one night stands, but definitely open relationships...
I think you have a point there.

it is obvious that one night stands are er for good. all kinds of women are available anytime.if a woman wants a child she can go to a sperm bank and make her selection without sex or a man.if she wants sex its everywhere, office, bars, neighbors, husbands of married women.
