as someone state they may have at one or two times left the galaxy, but until they have reached another galaxy, technically it is not considered intergalactic travel since from point A (our galaxy) to point B (another galaxy) they never reached of their own accord

In two episodes they encountered the energy barrier at the edge of the galaxy. Yeah, that's utter nonsense, what's worse is it was shown as a ribbon which could have easily been flown over or under. But in any case, even if they had penetrated the barrier, it still would have taken them a fair part of forever to get to another galaxy. Even in the Next Generation, only a portion of the galaxy has been explored and intergalactic travel is thought of as only possible with some new technological breakthrough.

Interstellar. There were 2 or 3 times when they crossed the barrier and headed for the galaxy Andromeda; but the came back.

At this point, (or the point in the future that the sequals have reached), the Federation has only reached three of the four quadrants of THIS galaxy (alpha, gamma, and delta). There have been no recorded incursions into the beta quadrant.

just in their own galaxy. Even at warp speeds it would take years to travel intergalactic.
