YES !!!!!!! Well at least i do. I guess some schools dont give enough, otherwise why is it that kids are going out at night or watching tv or the internet or whatever all the time?? Maybe they just cant be bothered to do the homework, or maybe they actually dont have any. I live in australia and was in year 8 last year, im 13 and had heaps of homework....once i stayed up till 1:30am doing a history assignment on the computer, and set my alarn clock to 4:30am to finish it.... i only had 3 hours of sleep!! I finally finished the assignment at 8:15am, getting mostly random information on the internet (i wasnt even sure if it was relevant). I also asked a lot of questions on Yahoo answers for some help. i ended up using a whole page from wikipedia but putting it in my own words, describing the wounded knee massacre among other tasks. luckily i recieved a B on the assignment, so i was happy, considering i did it on practically no sleep. I had many situations like this last year, and had approx. 10 assignments per term (one term being 9 or 10 weeks). I also had heaps of homework and tests , so it was a hard year. I stayed up really late working on asssignments a lot of the time but the weird thing is, i always received an A or B for it. (i guess i tend to work better when time is running out!). I think its bad if kids have too much homework, coz that means they wont have enough time for social activities, doing sports or leisure activities, even watching tv (although its bad, we've got to relax sometimes you know!)........ but then again its good to be given more homework coz then children will be more disciplined and study harder..... so its a positive thing, but the things is,,for me, personally, i dont remember that much information that im supposed to learn coz of the assignments piling on top of each other -- if i dont have much time to complete it, and stay up all the time, i cant concentrate that well so i dont really learn........

Yes sometimes they do...Especially in India children are burdened with lots of home work... But then this is a competative world and if children are not systematic or regular in their studies they are the sufferers... Home work are meant to be just a revision of class work where children / parents know what is taught in the class..
But children should have lots of physical activities too like out door games so they are emotionally and physically fit...
Over all development of children is important... So iam not against some amount of home work for children for their own benefit...

My children are at present in college and that i have self belief they have too a lot homework to do. in case you keep in mind that college is an similar as our artwork then it isn't honest that they ought to realize this a lot at the same time as they end for the day. If an worker had to achieve this a lot after hours artwork they'd be needing previous regularly happening time pay!! the different element is that the colleges have a lot on their record to coach the youngsters that the homestead artwork is purely to keep them as a lot because the position they must be. What they're unable to do in college because they're too busy doing extras there is the basics. typically it is the reading, writing and mathematics that has to take position at homestead. those are the necessary skills the youngsters want yet they're being through exceeded for "different stuff". faculties bypass lower back to fundamentals, it really is what the youngsters want more suitable than something else. undesirable spelling and the shortcoming of ability to do multiplications is what's being seen further and extra as a effect of the great preparation device we at present have. supply them extras and ignore the basics or lead them to learn the basics as homework. Why can we've instructors!!!! it is a topic i stumble on extremely warm as I artwork interior the market and am so annoyed.
