What do you mean by todays point of view? A true indian will be proud of his country no matter what!!!!!!!! I'm not saying this country is perfect. But check it out for yourself no one is perfect and neither is any country. For some people its only when they are away from their country they realize how gr8 their country is. I'm proud of india not bcoz were economically booming but bcoz we have a rich history and culture. No country in the world has as many festivals as we do.

Well India is indeed the mother of civilizations and great religions, however Africa is the place where modern humans arose from, then migrated to India and from India, humans to West Asia into Europe. I believe all Europeans owe there civilizations to India. Btw, India did invade alot of other Lands, especially Afghanistan, and the Great Tamil Chola Empire invaded South East Asia and introduced Hinduism. I am Tamil, from Tamil Eelam, my people, my culture, my religion all originated in India, so no I can't say I am a Proud Indian since I am not Indian, however I will say...... I LOVE INDIA!
