Hello Lovely.....
The best 'cafe' to is Paradise cafe, it isvery brightly coloured, well compared to the dark and dirty ones you find all over the place, I smoked for the first time there, they have the best stuff ever....the coffee is pretty good to!
I only saw two shows, as a gay man they didnt appeal to me too much but it was a good laugh when I was dragged up on stage by the biggest woman i have evr met in my life, good job I'd had a muffin.....Moulin Rouge was the best one and you got two free drinks which covered the price of your entrie.
Don't forget to visit the sex museum, that place is awesome, and right next to the train station!
As far as what to take, I was totally new to this and I was advised to stick with weed when I went to the coffee shop on the first night I told th eguy I hadnt done it before and I wanted something to make me happy, it was 16 euro for 4 joints and they were the best I've eevr had.....
Have a fabulous trip...I will be there agaiun in September!

Stick to the coffee shops, dont buy off anyone in the street, you can get good 'shrooms and green in the shops, they are the only legal places in amsterdam that you can enjoy them, you cant just do stuff like that in the street. Say no to any other drugs, if you get caught, you will be arrested, they do not tolerate hard drug use such as coke and speed out there.
Sex shows are good for a laugh but very expensive to get in as well as the drinks on top, but iwould recommend going at least once.
Just be careful late at night and look like you know where your going or you'll get hangers on and people trying to rip you off and sell you stuff. Like any other city in the world, ive never had problems in Amsterdam, its a beautiful place, make sure you have a good up to date map and decent walking shoes! Oh, and make an effort to speak to the locals, they speak excellent english and are probably the most friendliest people on earth!

Amsterdam may be the capital of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is certainly one of the most popular tourist locations in Europe; and you can visit it from with hotelbye . with its universities, academies, and research institutes, along with an increase of than 40 museums, numerous theaters, and amusement sites, Amsterdam could be the country's leading cultural center and an excellent place to pay your holyday. Furthermore, Amsterdam can also be famous for its ancient homes, laid out in a structure of concentric sections in the shape of a fan. Are some 6,750 structures dating from the 16th to 18th centuries are packed in to a place of 2,000 miles, dissected by 160 canals, themselves house to varied houseboats.

dam square is lively of a night they normally have ice skating going on there! The red light district is fun but be careful and stay on the main streets at all times! When it comes to drugs only buy them in the 'coffee shops' but be careful. Have a wicked time!

Definately go to the banana bar. You will get a postcard written in biro with a part of the female anatomy thats not normally used for writing. Also dont eat before you go as you may get the chance to eat a banana from the same place as the pen has been.

Basically when you do to enjoy "coffee" if you are not a regular "coffee drinker" then you should only have one "coffee"as it might affect you more than you think. Even one "coffee" is fun. I would reccomend a place called "Bulldog" as it is in a good well-lit area, there are a lot of other good "coffee shops" but some are in poorly lit areas.
As for sex shows, I really can't reccomend any, I've seen several but most were very expensive and not really very funny or erotic. I don't think 20 Euro to see some hairy guy humping a woman with fake boobes is good value. But if you like watching sex if you shop around yoiu can get hardcore sex DVDS for about 4 euro each (assuming you like porn). I would talk to some of the guys who work in the porn shops about which shows are good if you really do want to see one for the proper Amsterdam experience.
One thing that is quite good out there are the "ladies" who work in the red zone. They are very good at what they do and charge about 50 euro. Most of them do girl fun too so as long as you are single (don't go to them if you are married!) then you can have a fun orgasm with one of them.
Beer is not cheap in Amsterdam. It is about the same price as London. It is nice to have some beer (or wine) but you are in a major city so don't get totally drunk as there will be some bad people hiding in the shadows. Staying alert is staying safe. Grolsh is one of the main beers there, but you can try a lot of unusual and good European beers.
There are lots of great shops and you should visit them. There are some good bargains to be had with music, clothes and gifts if you shop around. I reccomend at least one afternoon of lookig around shops (as much to look around as to buy).
One IMPORTANT thing - some guys hang around selling drugs (there are a lot of them in the red zone) and they don't sell ANYTHING good or worth buying. What they sell are overpriced class A drugs and possibly mixed with something harmful to make them go further. Enjoy "coffee" in the coffee shops, enjoy shopping in the shops, sex with the "ladies" but don't risk drugs from these guys as you will regret it later.
If you have some spare money go to a night club. Amsterdam has some of the best clubs in Europe. Most of the good clubs are huge and very well advertised so it may be worth checking one out. There are a lot of small music bars which are great too and easyon the pocket.
I would really reccomend the sex museum (it's fun), the City museum (informative), the torture musem (a bit creepy), and the Van Gogh musuem (only if you like art). The museums are about the same price as one in the UK and are a good way to pass a few rainy hours.
I think that's about all I can think of at the moment, if you want any more info on Amsterdam (or any other place I've been to) then feel free to e-mail me (or contact me through my 360 page).
Have a fun time and remember to be safe!
