No it is not happy to be sad. This feelings comes because when you are sad you feel pity on yourself and this feeling makes you a little bit of happy.

Happy is not the right word maybe...but comfortable. Many people seem to gravitate towards misery and conflict and other emotions that create sadness. This is what is known as a self fulfilling prophecy. They cannot accept or understand what it is to be happy, so they live a life that is bound to create misery. They are not happy at all, just living the life they have chosen.

I personally believe that it's important to feel as much of the spectrum of human emotion as you can. In terms of being happy to be sad, I understand that and have experienced it. There's a strange beauty and complexity to melancholy. Notice how so many more songs about relationships are about the sadder side?

To experience the full range of human emotions is a beutiful thing.

"To me there are three things everyone should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two--spend some time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears. If you laugh, think, and cry, that's a heck of a day." ~ Jim Valvano
