I'm planning a weekend trip there and wanted to know if I should plan a couple hour fishing on Town Lake. What kind of fish are in there?

Don't bother taking your fishing gear to Town Lake - it's more of a city park area than a spot for fishing.

I've pasted a link below that will give you lots of good info about Town Park.

I hope this is helpful.

I don't think you'd want to fish in Town Lake. At least I don't think you'd want to eat any fish you caught in Town Lake. Town Lake is excellent for hiking and biking and rowing (lots of kayakers out there) but I don't see a lot of fishing there.

I expect you might be able to eat fish caught in Lake Travis, a much bigger lake not far outside town.

In between San Antonio and Austin is a brilliant smaller city named San Marcos. it particularly is the dwelling house of Texas State college, in the past often happening as Southwest Texas State. that's often happening for its youthful attitude and is a lot greater laid back than Austin in that Austin has site visitors like l. a.(sp?). 25 years in the past Austin became what San Marcos is now. And did I point out San Marcos is nice in between Austin and San Antonio with all the bennies of the two with out the hassles. Goodluck and welcome to Texas, an entire different u . s .!
