This doesn't help their agenda, all it does is annoy the hell out of everyone with their bitterness. I've heard them refer to god as a she and have heard them get upset words like "mankind". In college, the female professor told us to replace words like mankind with humankind. Maybe, instead of humans we should refer to people as "huwomans". Honestly, highstrung feminists nowadays baffle the frick out of me.

feminists make me sick. they are the reason for alot of societies problems. we females have a role that is to keep our husbands happy, take care of children, and home. not to go out and take jobs from men, turn our children over to some day care. men have a role too, head of the household, going to work all day. all the feminists have done is make divorce rates high, set us females back years and years, sissified men, caused men to laugh and basically lose respect for females. feminists need to stop this silliness and go learn how to be a better housewife and live in their role not outside it

replacing "mankind" for "humankind" doesn't seem too bad. But I thought it was stupid to replace "history" by "herstory", as "his" here doesn't refer to "man". It's a latin word (or greek?). It just doesn't make sense! I've also read that some always use "she" to refer to someone when she doesn't know the sex of the person.

I agree that sometimes, words like "chairperson" and the like should be used. But sometimes, it's a bit ridiculous, and there are more important things to do to help women!

And hardcore feminists also scare me, although I'm grateful for the first feminists who allowed me to be independent now.

" the female professor told us to replace words like mankind with humankind"

A brief lesson in the nature of language - ANY language. Language is not static: it is constantly evolving, changing. This fact is evident dictionaries: their job is to capture and reflect these changes in langage. A brief list (for Canadian usage; other 'flavours' of english will reflect their own dictinctiveness)

policeman=police officer, constable
fireman=firefighter
mailman=letter carrier
There are kazillions more such examples

Humankind MAY be used in place of 'mankind'. You will find this term in any english dictionary (of current useage). If your prof instructs you to do so then I suggest you do it. In 'real life' a female boss may fire you for having a bad attitude; this lady will probably just give you a well-deserved crappy grade. Free tip of the Day: don't piss off the people who have power over you - especially over something so ridiculously trivial!

With out trying to sound like a feminists which I do not see myself as, most of the time.

From the begining most if not all things that were written down had 'he' in it and most people took that literal. Meaning that woman were not or not to be included. As in 'all men are created equal" some took that as woman were not mentioned in Declaration of Independence .

The bible written most by men because woman did not or were not aloud to write things back then of any importance. It has "god made man in 'his' own image'. Having some come to believe that god was a man.

Feminists want to include woman in the things were they were not before. That is why they want some word changed.

I have never heard of "Huwomans" That just sound stupid.

"High-strung" is a term people often "put on" women, whether or not the woman is "high strung". Most women are not, in fact, "high strung". Actually, I've seen my share of men who are pretty "high strung" now that I think of it - and I'm not just saying that to make a point here.

Not all women/feminists do what you describe.

A few people do that - not most. Ignore it. Life is short.

In a woman's world, man or male is just a paragraph of a book. And that actually means, a woman uses a man as a commodity that interests her for a very short span of time. And in a marraige, a man is a slave to her. She dominates everything. Man is a coolie, Kuli, a marraige derived servant.
But in a man's world, it should be the other way around. Only thing is that during the course of 50 years, the opposite has happened. The used-to-gentle woman has turned wild and she has eventually tamed the man to submit to humility and humiliation.
Why this has happened ? Because there are more women clubs then men's clubs, more women magazines, more women exchange ideas than men do. Women viciously practice divide and rule policies in daily lives. For e.g. she will make you agree with her that your mother is a .....******......, your sister is a >>>***>>> and your side of your family suks. In comparison, her side of the family cannot be pointed to. If you do, she will consult other women of their previously 'shared tricks' to outsmart you. For a woman, a man's honesty is taken lightly and for her survival means manipulation.

if "mankind" is replaced by "humankind", than where is the "she"? No, feminists do not insist on it constantly, but only when it is appropriate.
