As long as the Dell is capable of seeing the 60 gig hard drive. Yes, you can buy it anywhere. The RESTORE CD’s are not proprietary to just one size of hard drive.

As for the Dell 1300 model. If it is a PIII (900mhz +) or P4 or an AMD 900mhz+ you are probably safe with the size of the hard drive.

As for what type of drive you need, SCSI, IDE, SATA, etc.. that is up to you to find out. Check warranties before messing with your own stuff.

Should be OK. Any 60GB laptop drive ought to be fine (recommend IBM). I got a Dell I1300 with 60GB on special. The restore disk shouldn't care what size the HD is.
