I recommend reading a book written by William Shakespeare called: "The Merchant of Venice." Or at least the cliff notes or ask someone that has read the book to explain it to you. It has a Jewish moneylender in it called Shylock in a predominantly Christian community. He is the villain of the story but actors covet the role of Shylock as the best acting part in the play.
Shylock charged interest when he loaned money but other money lenders did not. The book will highlight the friction between Jewish people and Christians I believe. Also if you are frugal or parsimonious or stingy, like Scrooge, or just really cheap some people will jokingly accuse you of being a Jew, which is a stereotype. At one point I believe most businesses were owned by Jewish people and with their success came resentment and a backlash of slander and so forth.
Another reason Jewish people get made fun of a lot is because certain fundamentalist Christians believe if you don't believe Jesus was the Messiah, as Jewish people do not, that they say "better a Jew than an atheist," but they don't really appreciate a diversity of religious beliefs such as Buddhism or other religions too like Islam. Narrow-minded.

people are evil. and it's not just the jews. and it's not just the jews that are the only ones who are made fun of. we live in an evil world.

The Jewish people are called the chosen people and certain people cannot come to accept that and therefore despise the Jews, make fun of them and even try to kill them!
