its not entirely true..

-traders comes to malaya/ melaka from all over the whole before the British colonization..

traders from Arabs, India & even china trade in Malaya..

but it reaches the peak when british introduce mining & plantation in malaya

In several ways....yes...
British introduced tin minings and rubber plantations and brought immigrants from India and China...

But to say that is "merely caused" perhaps an overstatement...
This is because there are past immigrations that were not caused by the Brits..
