As the above answers have shown, there are quite a few different ideas that differ greatly from one another. To an extent, most of them are at least somewhat valid. If we hunt down and kill every single terrorist, we will along the way make more terrorists but eventually they'll all be dead and everyone will hate us for killing off half the population of the world(heh, little bit of an exaggeration there). We can also fight terrorism through education - teach these people that they can have a better life, and they don't have to die or kill to have it, and they'll start converting pretty quickly although there are some that won't listen to reason and will still present a threat. We could negotiate a non-aggression pact, except that they wouldn't sign it and would take hostage and then kill any diplomats we send to the meeting. The problem is that we're fighting against people who want to convert everyone to their religion and kill everyone that doesn't convert. Certainly not all Muslims feel this way, but the extremists do. The issue is too long to discuss here, but needless to say it is something that we should be talking about and and we need to open-minded about it - the best solution is rarely the obvious one.

If winning the war on terrorism means millions must die then so be it. After all, "where's there's doubt, there is no doubt", and people from "that" part of the world have proven time and time again we have every justifiable cause for doubting the authenticity in their wanting to blend in with westerners. If you are a westerner and troubled by guilt surrounding such scenarios, don't be. What's it going to be...them or us??? When someone you care about finally dies as a result of their pathetic, lunatic cause, are you really going to care about "them" as they are killed off in retaliation?? I think not. 24 hours after September 11, all the sand in that part of the world should have been instantaneously transformed into a 20 foot thick sheet of glass. Total annihilation of ANY race known to have questionable intentions regarding the safety and welfare of western countries and their allies, is the ONLY way.

well,we have to find a sensible solution to the menace of terrorism.The root cause of terrorism is illiteracy,denial of rights,discrimination,economic backwardness and suppression suffered at any period in their lives.
By making primary education compulsory and implementing it effectively, we can check out the spread of terrorism.
If the demand of the radicals are rational then their voices should be heard. On the other hand if they try to dominate other sections in a society, their wish should be crushed with an iron hand.

Giving equal rights to all people in a society will play a crucial role in fighting terrorism.

Only Jehovah's Kingdom can stop terrorism. This will go on until God intervenes. It's out of control and can not be stopped by any human. God is our only hope. The terrorist are cowards and they kill innocent women and kids, they are cold blooded killers. But they will have to answer to God for their actions, nothing goes unnoticed by Jehovah.
