We sometimes hear of an isolated community here or there in which there are a higher than usual number of miscarriages. In each case, the cause could be different or be unknown.

Environmental causes aside, it is said that 1 out of 10 early pregnancies end in miscarriage as a result of a "blighted ovum". This means there was just something wrong right from the beginning, and that particular fertilized egg would never have developed properly.

miscarriage can be caused for many reasons or sometimes they just happen and no-one can say why? My wife has suffered miscarriage and a still birth but she is now pregnant with a baby boy and is due in 4wks. All I can suggest is that mtohers to be take folic acid, eat healthily, cut out smoking and drinking in pregnancy to try and keep the risk of miscarriage to a minimum. Some positive news is that most woman who go through a miscarriage then go on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby in the future.

Often in misscarriages, there is no probable cause, nor is any one thing or person to blame. Sometimes when an egg is initally fertilized it starts the dividng porgress, sometimes though the matching of the egg and sperm is imbalanced which can commonly cause a misscarriage, or that the egg hasnt been able to attach properly and comes away, this too would cause a misscarriage. But no-one would be to blame for any of this. Nature is a mystifying thing, sometimes it graces' us, other times it causes heartbreak.

majority of miscarriages are caused by genetic defects in the fetus , its mother natures way of dealing with things... after 3 consecutive miscarriages doctors will investigate to see if there is a medical reason for them, a lot of the time its just a case of bad luck really ..
