you never have an internal, unless you have complications, they will do it to see how dilated you are in labour, but by then you wont be worrying about it,you'll be too excited!

Depends on the doctor! I went after doing 3 tests, all positive, and got sent away with a book an babies and never seen anyone again until my scan at 13 weeks! They didn't take blood, urine or do an examination becuase a home test is as good, if not better, than anything they can do!
Checking down below won't do anything!
Congrats!

they will just take a urine sample and send it to the hospital to be tested and you will get the result's in 3 to 4 day then if its positive he will book you to see the midwife at about 12 weeks then you have your fist lot of routine bloods taken the will not do an examination down there so don't worry about that iv had four kids and my youngest just 6 months ago and iv never had a examination down there till i was ready to have the boys and that's just to check the cervix is dilating so get your self down the doctors and get your self and your baby sorted out good luck with every thing mate and i hope everything go well for you in your pregnancy and after congratulations oh by the way i found out i was pregnant but miscarried on Saturday.

Just take a urine sample, they usually test this first.
They check for the pregnancy hormone, later they check for sugar and protein levels.
Blood samples are later for what blood type you are and if you have a high sugar count, they check your glucose tolerance.
They only do an internal if they feel that there is a problem.
Don't worry about that, It is up to you at the end of the day whether you want the internal done or not.
I wouldn't fancy this myself, I am pregnant also.
Ask them as much questions as possible, a stupid question is one that is not asked.
If you have any concerns about it, I would suggest to speak to your doctor or midwife.
Most of them are very understanding and should give you the time to answer the questions until you are happy with them.
I hope all will go well for you and little one and have no complications.
Best of luck...

congratulations, your doctor will definatly take your urine so that they can confim the pregnancy but occassionally some doctors also take a blood sample which is nothing to worry about. You will then get a booking appointment with a midwife at around 8-12wks depending if you have had any previous pregnancies or complications. My wife is 36wks pregnant with our son and I wish you all the best for a healthy pregnancy.

they wont want to examine down below to confirm your pregnancy. infact most doctors I know wont even do an initial blood or urine test but just take your word for it.......but then soon all the testing starts and at a later date the doctor/midwife will be looking down below to deliver the baby...goodluck

when I found out i was pregnant I had done 2 home testing kits which were both positive. The doctor didn't do anything to confirm this, just assigned me a midwife, and I waited till my 12 week scan!

When I went for my pregnancy test, all they did was draw blood (then 5 more vials that same day when they found out I was positive). My first OB appointment, however, they did a pelvic exam and pap smear.

Judt urine. Blood will be later, you shouldn't need an internal unless you have complications of some kind. Congratulations x
