WIth paedophiles, it's a sensitivity towards sex with a conception of "pure" childhood innocence, coupled with media provoked hysteria. I don't think that we do hate racists more than murderers and wife beaters; the recent CBB-thing had more to do with a media frenzy.

I think the strength of feeling against paedophiles is very undersatndable, most of us remember what it was like to be a child, even if we don't have kids of our own. We know how wrong it is to prey on the innocent and helpless. As to the other groups mentioned I'd say I find them all intolerable though, strangely, those murders done in passion, in the heat of the moment , are perhaps more understandable/forgiveable than the man who beats his wife, or the wife who beats her husband!and as for racism, how can we, the british, or more correctly for me, the english, have the gall to condemn anyone for their culture/creed or colour. We have such a mixed race background we should be proud to embrace the rest of the world. Whether through the invasions from the rest of europe or our forefathers invasions around the world, building up our empire, our race is mixed, we have the chance to show that this can be a force for good. Instead we have small minded, insular people shouting the odds from their personal soapboxes. It really makes me want to leave here, to find somewhere more tolerant.

OK, first of all I'll state my claim that they are ALL scum of the earth. Of all the victims suffered by the four groups you mentioned, children vics of the pedophiles cannot defend themselves. They may not know what's right and wrong, and before we go fighting for another adult, I think a majority of people will help a kid first. Plus it's just sick. It's a kid man! Leave them alone! And the racism thing, people like me just don't get what's so hard about racists hating someone based on their skin. I guess we've become nummb to murders and wife beaters, not that they should be ignored, but it's like everyday news. And I'm not sure I answered your question, but then again it's 4:49 am, give me a break!

Paedophiles are at the top of the tree when it comes to pure contempt due to the fact that they prey on the most innocent of victims - children. whenever there is a case in the news it is completely impossible to try & comprehend what the fu*k must be going through their sick heads.
Wife beaters & racists can both be classed as bullies, although I would put a wife beater & a murderer above a racist because a person can be racist without knowing (ie: lack of intelligence, ignorance etc) whereas murder & assault are more premediated.

Well,
Just a thought, but it could be a question of identifying with the offender (or not, as the case may be.)
By which I mean, we have all been angry at someone, including our partners, so we have experienced the thought processes that lead to murder or domestic violence, so even though we ultimately condemn the actions of these criminals, we can understand why they do what they do.
Paedophilia is a condition which we do not want to acknowledge and where we find it hard to see the offender's point of view. Indeed, the attitude surrounding paedophilia is so condemnatory that a paedophile who has not yet offended but finds themselves aroused by children is unlikely to seek psychological help, therefore is likely to offend.
Racism is an ugly primordial tail that in many cases refuses to drop off. We hate it because it reminds us of the basest parts of human nature, the identification and vilification of an "other", something we learn through social conditioning or experience to be undesirable. Notably experience (having friends, acquaintances, lovers of a different background) is a better teacher; social conditioning seems most effective in controlling overtly expressed racism, whilst not necessarily removing the root feelings responsible.
This is the failure of political correctness- you can be taught to say "Afro-Carribean" or what have you, but you need to know for yourself that the group of people to whom that refers aren't any better, worse, or substantially different from you.

You do not understand why people hate Pedophiles? Do you understand what a pedophile is? Some one that has sex with children. Sorry dude but I would happily shoot every one of them in the head and pay for the bullets! Murderers a close second. As for racists I can't say I hate them more than wife beaters, but I would put them all in the same category as dangerous and/or completely worthless to society

I could care less if somebody is racist, but pedophiles sicken me. Putting small children in danger is by far the most perverse thing one can do.
As for murderers, I don't hate them because I don't know them - but they deserve something terrible in return for what they do.
And as for wife beaters, they're low-lives. Also, it's the wife's fault for having such poor judgment and getting herself into a situation she can't get out of.
I don't 'hate' anybody directly unless I know them directly and they've shown me why they don't deserve to be treated like every other person in my life (which would be with love, respect... etc).
Remember, everybody's got a choice... and every once in a while you get a bad seed.

i don't consider one over the other: as for me, wife beaters, paedophiles, racists are as bad as each other. how can you condone and justify the actions or views of these people, because you cannot. wife beaters are brutes, who assume its okay to put their hands on a woman and beat the hell out of her when its not. paedophiles are just sickos and of whom deserve to be hanged, whilst racists are ignorant, narrow-minded bigots.
murderers are evil in general, but it depends on their motives and reasons as to why they kill. if some guy murdered a paedophile because he had molested his child, then i'd have sympathy and support for him, because he acted in order to safeguard and protect his child and their interests.
in addition to all of these, i'd include homophobes as well. if they don't approve of what they do, then so be it, but to literatelly condemn these people and their actions by making such nasty and vicious remarks is bang out of order. in truth, homosexuals have done nothing to anger hetrosexuals. they haven't raped or upsetted us in anyway. why should what they do in bed for example be of any business to us?
